Speech-language pathologist Ana Paula Mumy MA’00, now a clinical assistant professor at the University of Kansas, recently used her heritage as a native of Brazil to help translate a film about stuttering into Portuguese for South America’s largest market. Mumy was inspired to work with the film, titled “When I Stutter,” after her son developed a bout of stuttering as a child. The doctoral graduate offered to help documentarian John Gomez translate the film, which was shown last fall in honor of Stuttering Awareness Day.
