Rufus Green MBA’96

This UT Dallas alumnus and accomplished urologist was the first physician to graduate from the University’s executive MBA program.
Currently a practicing urologist in Dallas, Dr. Rufus Green MBA’96 began his practice in 1978 while serving in the United States Air Force. During his time with the Air Force, Green attained the rank of colonel and is the recipient of the Air Force Legion of Merit Medal, one of the highest non-combat decorations.
As the first physician to graduate from UT Dallas’ executive MBA program, Green helped create the Alliance for Physician Leadership, which is a management program for physician executives. The program is an important partnership between The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and UT Dallas.
In 2008, Green received the Distinguished Alumni Award at UT Dallas’ annual Awards Gala.
I became a doctor so I could help relieve pain and suffering, and provide care to those in my community due to a shortage of doctors.
