UT Dallas Names Arun Agarwal, Don Magner to Executive Board

The University of Texas at Dallas has named Arun Agarwal, CEO of Nextt, and Don Magner BA’96, Richardson city manager, to its Executive Board. The two newest members join fellow business and community leaders on the board who are dedicated to the advancement of UT Dallas.

Internationally known for designing and manufacturing high-quality products, Agarwal leads a Dallas manufacturer of home textiles, garments, apparel fabrics and polyester yarns. His brands are represented in national retailers like Walmart, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Costco. He holds numerous United States patents.

Agarwal received the 2016 AsiaOne Global Indian of the Year award, 2015 NRI Entrepreneur of the Year award, the 2014 Outstanding Entrepreneur award by the Indian American Friendship Council and Dallas-Fort Worth regional business leadership awards

Don Magner BA’96, Richardson city manager

Magner was named Richardson city manager on March 1, 2022, and has worked for the city since 1996, the same year he graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He also holds a master’s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.

At UT Dallas, Magner serves on the advisory council for the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences. He also serves on the North Central Texas Council of Government’s New and Emerging City Managers Program.
