In Search of Myself: Surviving a Cult and Blazing Trails

Daniella Mestyanek Young BA’12 escaped an abusive life in a religious cult, earned a degree at UT Dallas and served as an Army intelligence officer in the Afghanistan War.

Thomas B. Spencer BA’02, MBA’08, PhD’16 and Jay Scott MA’09, MS’10, MS’12, PhD’15 have been friends since their doctoral orientation in the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences. Their recent gifts to UT Dallas will provide professional development resources for future EPPS students.
