UT Dallas Names Chuck Butler, Lewis Chang to Executive Board

The University of Texas at Dallas has named Chuck Butler BS’91, founder and managing partner of Palomino Capital LLC, and Lewis Chang BS’11, CEO of Qualia Labs Inc., to its Executive Board. Both join other community and business leaders on the board in supporting the University’s advancement and vision.
At Palomino Capital, a premier mergers and acquisitions investment banking firm, Butler has completed transactions representing over $2 billion in value.
At UT Dallas, Butler has served as a mentor to MBA students in the Naveen Jindal School of Management, where he previously earned a degree in business administration. In 2017, Butler established the Palomino Capital Opportunity Fund for Entrepreneurship in the Jindal School.
Butler currently serves as chairman of Palomino’s investments in River Bend Industries, Hospitec and Fortius Solutions. He is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations including the Cattle Baron’s Ball, the Ann & Nate Levine Academy, Temple Emanu-El and Heroes for Children.
Chang attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center after graduating from the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at UT Dallas with a degree in neuroscience. He then shifted into healthcare management, where he has nearly a decade of experience with clinical research, study organization, data analysis and strategic development.
He is now CEO of Qualia Labs Inc., a Dallas-based advanced neuroscience and biotechnology company that develops a variety of neural interface devices.
Chang currently serves as president of UT Dallas’ Eugene McDermott Scholars Program Alumni Association, which provides recruitment assistance, mentorship and financial support for the University’s prestigious McDermott Scholars Program.
