UT Dallas Readies for Seventh Annual Comets Giving Days

The University of Texas at Dallas community will unite for the seventh annual Comets Giving Days April 19 and 20. Looking to build on the momentum of a record-setting year in 2022, the University aims to raise more than 3,000 gifts from supporters during the two-day fundraising event.
Over 120 campus groups will participate in this year’s giving days, allowing all Comets to support the campus causes they care about most. Matching gifts and challenges will extend the impact of individual gifts, with online leaderboards tracking live donations to UT Dallas’ schools, departments and programs for the chance to earn bonus funds.
In celebration of Comets Giving Days seventh year, “lucky No. 7” on-campus events and giving challenges will help supporters to go all-in to make a difference for students, faculty and community initiatives. Campus activity will center around the Margaret McDermott Mall and Trellis Plaza with free food, giveaways and photo opportunities available throughout the event.
On April 20, the Office of Sustainability and the Office of Student Volunteerism will co-host a special Earth Week Fair event on the Plinth from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., featuring informational booths and interactive activities from student organizations, campus departments and community partners.
Three student support initiatives are challenging donors to contribute at least 50 gifts to unlock extra funding this year, including the UT Dallas Student Emergency Fund, the Comet Cupboard and the Douglas Aundre Peterson Fund for Homeless Students. Each of these programs provides vital resources for UT Dallas students in need, and rely on community donations to accomplish their missions.
Every gift made during Comets Giving Days will help reach the New Dimensions campaign goal of $750 million.
Become a Digital Ambassador
Ambassadors – UT Dallas’ digital leaders on Comets Giving Days – share messages and create excitement before and during the campaign. Alumni, students and friends are all invited to become digital ambassadors with the chance to win special prizes.
Ambassadors support UT Dallas by:
- Posting on social media.
- Sharing messages and encouraging alumni and friends to support favorite causes.
- Participating in exclusive Comets Giving Days challenges.
- Designating additional funds to favorite campus entities.
